Rabat – Wydad Temara have officially secured promotion to the Botola Pro after defeating Raja Beni Mellal 2-1 in the 28th round of Morocco’s second division.

The match took place at Ahmed Chhoud Stadium in Rabat and gave the hosts three valuable points.

The victory allowed Wydad Temara to strengthen their lead at the top of the table with 50 points and guarantee their return to the top flight with two matches still to play.

The club confirmed promotion thanks to its consistency throughout the season and its advantage over the chasing pack.

Wydad Temara sit three points ahead of second-placed Moghreb Tetouan and eight points clear of third-placed Amal Tiznit, securing one of the two promotion spots to the Botola Pro.

The achievement marks a major success for the Rabat-based side, which will now prepare for life among Morocco’s elite clubs next season.

With promotion already secured, Wydad Temara will look to finish the campaign strongly and possibly end the season as champions of the second division.
