Rabat – Morocco’s Princess Lalla Meryem presided over the inauguration ceremony of the Diplomatic Circle Charity Bazaar on Saturday at the National Library in Rabat.

The event commenced with the symbolic ribbon-cutting by Lalla Meryem, signifying the opening of the charitable bazaar, said Morocco news agency (MAP) in a press release.

During her visit, the princess explored various stands showcasing artisanal and local products representing countries from different continents.

Following the ceremony, she posed for a commemorative photo with members of the Diplomatic Circle.

In addition, she met with several government officials, including the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Aawatif Hayar, and the Wali of the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region Mohamed Yacoubi.

Marking over three decades of tradition, the Diplomatic Circle’s Charity Bazaar has become an integral part of the social fabric of the capital Rabat.

The event is a “celebration of friendship and solidarity,” drawing thousands of participants who contribute to the Diplomatic Circle’s charitable goals, added the statement.

As the Diplomatic Circle’s flagship initiative, the Bazaar engages the spouses of diplomatic heads and representatives of international organizations, forming an active network of women diplomats committed to helping the most vulnerable while fostering fraternity and generosity.

This year’s edition featured representatives from around thirty countries and international organizations. This was an opportunity to showcase a wide variety of products from Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, all available for purchase at different stands.

A significant portion of this year’s funds will be directed towards assisting the victims of Al Haouz earthquake which hit central Morocco on September 8.
