Rabat – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has hit back at President Tayyip Erdogan’s Hitler comments by accusing  today the Turkish leader of committing “genocide against the Kurds.”

Erdogan “holds a world record for imprisoning journalists who oppose his rule,” Netanyahu said, adding that the Turkish president is the “last one who can preach morality to us.”

He went on to claim that “the IDF is the most moral army in the world that fights and destroys the most abhorrent and cruel terrorist organization in the world, Hamas ISIS, which committed crimes against humanity and which Erdogan praises and hosts his senior officials.”

The remarks come in response to Erdogan’s earlier condemnation of Israel’s murderous campaign in Gaza, with the Turkish president lamenting the Israeli war crimes in Palestinian territories and stressing that there was “no difference” between Netanyahu’s actions and Adolf Hitler’s crimes.

“They talk about Hitler in a strange way. What is the difference between them and Hitler? They will make us miss Hitler even more,” Erdogan said.

In addition to decrying the brutality of the Israeli aggression in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, Erdogan also took issue with the international community for failing Palestine despite evidence of unspeakable horror and devastation in Gaza.

Erdogan singled out the EU, the UN Security Council, and mainstream media for remaining silent or subtly condoning Israel’s Gaza war in spite of grim reports of the unprecedented tragedy in Gaza.  Israel’s ongoing aggression in Gaza and the West Bank has to date killed more than 22,000 Palestinians and injured as many as 60,000.

Meanwhile, official estimates indicate that 7,000 Palestinians are currently under the rubble or missing as a result of unrelenting Israeli attacks on civilian infrastructure and residential areas.
