Rabat – Gaza authorities reported that Israeli Occupation Forces have been targeting five shelters housing approximately 30,000 displaced individuals in supposedly safe zones.

The affected shelters include Al-Aqsa University Shelter, University College Accommodation, Khalidiya School Shelter, Al-Mawasi School Shelter, and Khan Younis Industry Shelter, Al Jazeera reported.

Gaza’s media office released a statement on Telegram, condemning the Israeli actions, saying, “[Israel] claimed they were safe centers and called on citizens to take refuge in them. Then committed a massacre that left many martyrs.”

The statement added this “comes within the framework of a genocidal war launched by the occupation against civilians, children, and women in the Gaza Strip.”

Gaza’s media office places responsibility for these crimes not only on Israeli Occupation Forces but also on the international community, the US administration, and US President Joe Biden personally.

“They are the ones who gave the occupation the green light to commit these massacres, and they also refused to stop this brutal war on the Gaza Strip,” added the statement.

In December, the US vetoed a United Nations resolution backed by almost all other Security Council members and dozens of other countries for an immediate humanitarian cease-fire in Gaza.

Gaza’s media office highlighted a pattern where Israeli Occupation Forces forced civilians at gunpoint to leave their homes and neighborhoods, and assured them that relocation areas were safe.

However, these areas were subsequently targeted by the Israeli occupation forces, resulting in dozens of reported massacres across Gaza’s provinces.

The Israeli occupation forces had previously ordered Palestinians in northern Gaza to move to allegedly safer regions, including central areas like Deir al-Balah, as well as Khan Yunis and Rafah in the south.

However, thousands of Palestinians who followed the evacuation orders were later targeted during subsequent attacks.
