Fez – Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Morocco’s Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, was awarded “Best Government Personality” in the Arab world for social communication in the youth sector.
The honor was bestowed upon the minister by the Institute of Social Governments in Cairo at their Social Government Award ceremony.
Mohamed Ait Ouali, Moroccan Ambassador to Egypt,was present at the ceremony and accepted it on behalf of Minister Bensaid.
The award recipient was decided upon by a jury composed of various professionals working in the field of social communication in the MENA region.
At this event, Director of the Institute of Social Governments, Ahmed Sabri, said that more than 30 entities and 50 government figures were in the running for the awards this year, speaking to the competitive nature within the categories of health, information, and communication technologies, as well as finance.
The Social Government Awards’ event is a key indicator of innovation and excellence in the field of government digital solutions. The initiative is aimed at highlighting good practices in the field of government communication, via social networks throughout the Arab world. The awards are meant to show appreciation towards government entities in their work to use their social networks for good, transparent communication.
Candidates compete in categories that include digital content as well as social media activity.
The Institute of Social Governments, based in both Abu Dhabi and Cairo, supports Arab government efforts in communications, as well as publishes reports on the government’s social media activity.
