Rabat – Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group, fired dozens of rockets into northern Israel in a retaliatory attack following an Israeli strike on a medical center in southern Lebanon that resulted in the death of seven people.
According to reports from Israeli media, one of the rockets launched by Hezbollah struck an Israeli industrial site, resulting in the death of a construction worker.
This latest exchange of fire between Hezbollah and Israel adds to the tension along the Israel-Lebanon border which began since the Israel Occupation Forces began its bloody war on Gaza in October.
The escalation comes amid continued violence in the region, with Israeli occupation continuing its relentless attacks against innocent Palestinian civilians.
Despite a recent UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan, the Israeli Occupation Forces’s attacks continue, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
Over the past 24 hours, the situation has remained dire, with reports indicating a significant escalation in violence.
The resolution passed by the UN Security Council on Monday calls for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza during Ramadan.
It was proposed by the 10 elected members of the council and was supported by 14 UNSC members, with the US abstaining from voting.
The resolution emphasized the need for a lasting, sustainable ceasefire, the release of Israeli captives taken by Hamas on October 7, and increased humanitarian aid to Gaza.
However, Israeli forces continue to carry out airstrikes on residential buildings and public health facilities across Gaza. This has resulted in a devastating toll on civilians, including children.
Israeli attacks have killed at least 24 people in the southern city of Rafah. The merciless assaults have overwhelmed local hospitals and left wounded individuals waiting for urgent medical attention for hours.
