Rabat – According to a report released on Tuesday by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), police apprehended two individuals in the northern city of Nador, who are suspected of being drug traffickers and in possession of more than 16 kilograms of cocaine and a rifle.

Based on information from the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), which collaborated in this security operation, the two individuals are aged between 31 and 48.

According to a statement from the DGSN, the two suspects were taken into custody concurrently during operations in the Nador town of Farkhana, for their alleged involvement in dealing cocaine.

The statement added that the searches led to the seizure of 16 tablets weighing more than 16 kilograms of cocaine.

In addition to narcotics, authorities seized a shotgun, ammunition, knives and other sharp weapons, a tear gas canister, six cars bearing national and foreign license plates, and a sum of money suspected to be the proceeds of these illicit operations.

The suspects were investigated under judicial procedures conducted by the Nador police brigade, in order to ascertain all potential consequences of this network and apprehend the suspected accomplices in the drug trafficking. These investigations were completed under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.

The Nador police also collaborated in a joint operation with the Fez judicial police last Sunday to arrest three people for their suspected involvement in kidnapping.

These suspects were also accused of offenses related to human trafficking, coordinating illegal migration, ransom demands, and detention.
