Marrakech – Saudi Arabia is on the verge of welcoming the world’s first Dragon Ball Z theme park.

The kingdom’s expansive Qiddiya project will house this groundbreaking entertainment hub, spanning an impressive 5.3 million square feet.

A press release detailed that the latest addition to Saudi Arabia’s tourist offerings will encompass seven distinct zones, each replicating different locations from the Japanese anime series.

With over 30 themed rides and a range of hotels and restaurants, visitors can anticipate an immersive experience like no other.

The Dragon Ball Z theme park will feature five rides touted as “world firsts,” according to the press release.

Notably, one of these attractions will be Shenron, a 230-foot-high roller coaster named after the series’ magical dragon.

Qiddiya is envisioned as a multibillion-dollar “city” in Riyadh; a colossal expanse of desert located approximately 28 miles from the capital, reachable within a 40-minute drive.

Encompassing over 360 square kilometers (around 140 square miles), the development is slated to host over 400 individual attractions, ranging from golf courses and theme parks to hotels.

Additionally, Qiddiya is scheduled to feature a Six Flags amusement park and a waterpark among its diverse offerings.

The kingdom has directed substantial investment toward video games and the widely embraced Japanese anime genre.

Notably, Toei Animation, known for producing renowned anime series such as Dragon Ball Z, is partnering with MiSK, a foundation spearheaded by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to develop anime movies.

In addition to these ventures, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) holds a significant stake as the third-largest shareholder in the Japanese video game company, Nintendo.
