Marrakech – Iranian authorities have announced Monday, March 12 as the first day of Ramadan 2024.

With this announcement, Muslims all around Iran get ready to go off on a path of introspection, spiritual renewal, and fostering communal ties.

The decision was made by religious authorities in Iran after careful observation of the lunar calendar and the sighting of the crescent moon, a traditional method used to determine the start of Ramadan.

The official announcement of the first day of Ramadan in Iran serves as a reminder to Muslims across the country to prepare spiritually and mentally for the month ahead.

Ramadan is anticipated to begin simultaneously in nations including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Lebanon.

It’s essential to recognize that Islam reigns as the predominant religion in Iran, with approximately 99.4% of the population practicing this faith.

Celebrated in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, Ramadan holds immense cultural and religious significance in Iran.

For travelers, immersing themselves in the essence of Ramadan in Iran can deeply enhance their journey, providing an authentic glimpse into the country’s cultural and religious traditions.

During this sacred time, characterized by generous hospitality, vibrant traditions, and profound spiritual connections, visitors are warmly welcomed to participate in the customs, honor the fasting practices, and fully engage with the unique rhythm of Iranian life.
