Marrakesh – Embarking on its next chapter, the “Sounds of Africa ” music festival is set to unveil its second edition at the Movenpick Mansour Eddahbi hotel in Marrakesh on May 18, 2024.
This highly anticipated musical event builds upon the foundation of its inaugural event, which drew over 800 enthusiasts to the Palais Anthéa in Marrakesh.
This upcoming edition is poised to become a pivotal moment in the cultural scene, offering an unforgettable evening infused with the creativity and talent of exceptional artists, a press release shared with Morocco World News stated.
From the captivating beats of Monkey Safari to the enchanting melodies of Maxi Meraki, Sounds of Africa is set to showcase a diverse lineup of talent, including the inspiring work of Moroccan artist Amina Benbouchta and Malagasy artist Joël Andrianomearisoa.
With contributions from emerging Moroccan talent like the young prodigy Yassine Mandar and captivating performances by “We The Stage,” this event is expected to celebrate artists and musicians from around the globe, highlighting both international stars and emerging talents from Morocco.
Furthermore, this year, an exclusive sunset party will take place on May 17th from 4 PM to 11 PM, bringing together 300 VIP guests.
This soirée marks the beginning of an exceptional collaboration with Movenpick Mansour Eddahbi hotel in Marrakech and will feature Saudade, Chambord, and superstar Laolu.
According to the press release, during this year’s edition, Sounds of Africa aims to welcome over 1000 festival-goers, further solidifying its position as a cornerstone in promoting the Moroccan cultural scene.
The inaugural edition of Sounds of Africa last year proved to be a resounding success, drawing 840 attendees in a single night.
Featuring 8 hours of performances showcasing 10 musical artists and 8 emerging creators, the event garnered significant visibility, reaching an audience of 1.2 million people.
The Sounds of Africa festival provides a platform for Moroccan artists, musicians, dancers, and creators, as well as those from across Africa.
The annual event aims to celebrate cultural diversity, strengthen bonds between peoples, and promote African values such as respect, optimism, hospitality, and leadership.
