Rabat – Morocco is featured among the North African countries called upon by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Prosper Africa US government initiative to export their culinary delights for the 68th edition of the “Summer Fancy Food Show,” scheduled to take place in New York between June 23-25.
Prosper Africa, a key co-organizer of the food show event, is a US government initiative aimed at promoting trade and investment between the US and Africa.
According to the announcement, which was shared on the US Mission to Morocco social media pages, this international food show, renowned for its “gourmet” positioning, will provide Moroccan and North African exhibitors with a prestigious platform to present their unique products. The North African cuisine variety will encompass chocolate, tea, infusions, dates, spices, olive oils, new frozen-food recipes, and other delights, all presented to over 30,000 industry professionals.
The event is a significant opportunity for “export-ready” culinary firms from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt to showcase their products and succeed in the US market. Companies who fulfill the standards for international and US market access and are qualified for exports are welcome to apply for the program.
Companies who are interested in showcasing their products are encouraged to apply via the application portal by April 7, 2024.
According to the USAID and Prosper Africa’s joint announcement, the goal of the food show is to curate a space for beneficial connections between North African exhibitors and a variety of prospective buyers, distributors, retailers, and peers.
The initiative aims to provide participants the opportunity to establish long-lasting business relationships, create avenues for partnerships, and increase their market presence and distribution networks.
The event will be run through USAID’s Africa Trade and Investment (ATI) Activity program, an endeavor designed to enhance transatlantic trade and investment by providing technical assistance and easing financial access to help the development of African economies.
