Rabat – Seven aid workers, including individuals from Australia, Poland, the UK, and a US-Canada citizen, were killed in a targeted Israeli air strike in Gaza today.
The US-based aid group World Central Kitchen (WCK) confirmed the deaths, sparking international condemnation and calls for an urgent investigation into the incident.
The attack, which occurred amid the Israeli Occupation Forces’ (IOF) ongoing war on Gazans, has drawn outrage from various quarters, with demands for accountability and justice for the victims.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that the Israeli army was responsible for the strike, describing it in a statement as “unintended” and “tragic.”

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) decried the attack, emphasizing the need to protect humanitarian workers who are not a target.
The agency highlighted the alarming trend of aid workers being killed in conflicts, with 176 staff members killed since the start of the war in Gaza.
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) condemned the attack and held Israel fully responsible and called for an independent and transparent investigation.
The UAE emphasized the importance of an immediate ceasefire and the protection of civilians and humanitarian organizations in Gaza.

Alex Fort, a logistics coordinator at Doctors Without Borders, condemned the attack as a violation of international humanitarian law. He emphasized the risks faced by aid workers in providing assistance to the civilian population and called for serious investigations into such incidents.
The deadly strike has led to a halt in WCK operations in Gaza as the organization reviews its security protocols. Aid ships carrying essential supplies from Cyprus to Gaza have also been affected, with some shipments being turned back.
In response to the attack, various world leaders expressed shock and sadness, calling for accountability and an immediate ceasefire to protect civilians. The European Union urged restraint and emphasized the need to avoid further escalation in the region.
