Rabat – Abdellatif Hammouchi, the Director General of National Security and Surveillance of the Territory (DGST), hosted Muhammad Sami-ur-Rehman, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Morocco, in Rabat on Wednesday.
During their meeting, the two parties discussed various security-related topics of mutual interest and explored avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation across different security domains, Moroccan news agency MAP quoted a security source as saying.
The source added that the meeting reaffirms the commitment of the DGSTto implement diverse bilateral and multilateral security partnerships aimed at strengthening international security cooperation.
The meeting also underlined the determination of the Moroccan authorities to respond to all cooperation requests that strengthen security coordination between Morocco and other countries.
Both Hammouchi and Sami-ur-Rehman emphasized the importance of fostering strong ties to effectively address shared security challenges and promote regional stability.
This includes the continuation of efforts to deepen collaboration and exchange best practices in combating transnational threats, thereby contributing to the security and well-being of both countries and the broader international community.
Hammouchi, renowned for his proactive approach to international security cooperation, has led numerous collaborative initiatives with numerous countries.
Under his leadership, DGST has been instrumental in fostering partnerships that address global security challenges.
Notably, Hammouchi’s efforts were acknowledged last year when he was recognized as one of the most influential figures in Africa.
Pan-African Magazine “Africa Report” featured Hammouchi among the 50 most influential people in Africa in 2023.
