Rabat – In April of this year, Morocco emerged as the top choice for French travelers seeking foreign destinations, according to the latest data from aviation ticketing specialist “MisterFly,” the news website “L’Echo touristique” reported on Friday.
The North African country surged to the forefront of the rankings, surpassing other popular destinations.
According to L’Echo touristique, this rise was fueled by an 8% drop in ticket prices compared to the previous year, making Morocco an attractive option for French travelers seeking budget-friendly vacations.
Morocco climbed two positions higher in the list of preferred destinations compared to its previous ranking.
Meanwhile, Spain trailed behind in second place, with a 4% decrease in ticket prices compared to last year.
The rankings also highlighted Tunisia, Italy, Portugal, and Greece, each with its own fluctuations in ticket prices and shifts in positions compared to the previous year.
With a 7% increase in ticket prices, Portugal slipped two spots in the rankings, while Greece saw a 2% price increase but dropped two places.
The United States, Senegal, and Turkey maintained their positions with varying price changes, indicating stable demand among French travelers for these destinations.
“MisterFly” conducted its analysis based on 126,382 economy class tickets booked throughout April 2024. This provided insights into the evolving preferences and trends in French outbound tourism.
Morocco’s consistent appeal to French travelers reflects its status as a favored global tourist destination.
The country’s proximity to France and the availability of direct flights make it a convenient destination for travelers looking for shorter flights and easy access.
In addition, Morocco offers a diverse range of attractions, including vibrant cities like Marrakech and Fez, stunning landscapes such as the Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert, as well as rich cultural experiences.
