Rabat – During a key meeting at the Arab Summit in Manama, Morocco’s Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, reiterated the kingdom’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.
The discussions with Mohammed Mustafa, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Palestine, highlighted Morocco’s strong stance on the ongoing crisis and its unwavering support for a two-state solution.
Bourita, echoing the long-held position of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Jerusalem Committee, emphasized Morocco’s backing for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the basis of the pre-1967 borders.
During the discussions, the closure of the Moroccan Gate at Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli authorities drew strong condemnation from Bourita.
Such provocative actions, including the infiltration by Israeli extremists and the raising of the Israeli flag within the mosque’s courtyards, constitute a blatant violation of international law and significantly escalate tensions, he stressed.
The discussions also addressed the critical issue of humanitarian aid. Bourita emphasized the urgent need for unimpeded access to Gaza to ensure sufficient delivery of humanitarian supplies.
In particular, the top Moroccan diplomat underscored the importance of sustaining UNRWA services, which he said is vital for the well-being of the Palestinian people.

Beyond condemning Israeli actions, the meeting highlighted the escalating violence perpetrated by extremist settlers in the West Bank, often endorsed by Israeli officials.
Both ministers acknowledged how such acts fuel war and undermine any prospect of achieving lasting peace. Prime Minister Mustafa expressed his deep appreciation for Morocco’s unwavering support under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.
He especially hailed the initiatives of the Jerusalem Waqf Fund, a critical arm of the Jerusalem Committee, in supporting the holy city and its inhabitants.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of both countries’ commitment to continued cooperation and consultation at various levels.
This collaboration aligns with the shared vision of King Mohammed VI and President Mahmoud Abbas, aiming to achieve a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
