Marrakech – The complications with the summer surge in visa applications for Schengen countries revive the same tedious scenario each year, and this time, Moroccan citizens are expressing increasing frustration and anger over the significant delays in obtaining visas to travel to Spain.

According to local reports, the intermediary company “BLS,” responsible for accepting visa applications for entry into Spanish territory, is failing to respond to applications in a timely and legal manner, causing substantial economic losses for applicants in the city of Tangier.

Despite following the established procedures for submitting their applications, many individuals are complaining about the prolonged wait times, which currently exceed 60 days, as reported by La Razón.

This delay is a clear violation of the laws stipulated on the official visa application website, as the specified processing period is not being respected.

The situation has led to mounting frustration and anger among applicants who consider the delay not only unfair but also a source of tremendous financial losses.

In addition to the direct costs associated with the visa application process, the delays are forcing applicants to postpone or cancel their travel plans, resulting in additional expenses.

Moreover, many are losing out on job opportunities or educational programs they were set to undertake in Spain.

Those affected by the delays are calling on the relevant authorities to issue an explanation for the unjustified holdups, demanding that the intermediary company expedite the process and adhere to the legally stipulated time frame.

They have also highlighted the need for financial compensation for the losses incurred if the situation persists.

Human rights activists believe that the lack of clear explanations and swift solutions to address these delays is fueling discontent among Moroccans and eroding trust in the visa issuance process.
