Rabat – In its fifth session held in Cairo on Saturday, the Arab Parliament recalled Morocco’s support for the Palestinian cause.
In the resolution adopted on the situation in Gaza, the Arab Parliament recalled King Mohammed VI’s long-standing efforts in defending the Palestinian cause.
The resolution also highlighted the actions taken by the Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency.
Morocco has frequently called for an immediate ceasefire to the devastating war, in which the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) have targeted civilians since October 7.
The North African kingdom, under the King’s instructions, also deployed two humanitarian aid for the war-torn Gaza to mitigate the impacts of the catastrophe led by the occupation forces.
The latest humanitarian aid shipment was delivered in June. The 40-ton aid package consisted of medical supplies and other commodities to mitigate the situation in Gaza.
In March, a similar shipment was also sent to relieve the suffering of Gaza’s civilians. The Arab Parliament on Saturday called for increased coordination between Arab and regional parliaments to support the admission of Palestine as a full member of the UN. They urged countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to do so in all international forums.
The parliament also condemned international efforts calling for an immediate and urgent cessation of aggression in Gaza.
Since October 7, the IOF killed over 38,584 Palestinians, and have injured an estimated 88,881 others.
However, according to British journal, The Lancet, the death toll could actually be 186,000 once all of the missing bodies are accounted for in the rubble. In the past 24 hours alone, Israel has killed at least another 141 others.
“The grim figures are likely much higher with thousands of bodies believed buried under the vast destruction of Gaza’s fallen buildings,” Al Jazeera reported today.
