Rabat – Patients and staff at the al-Ahli Arab Hospital and the Patient’s Friends Benevolent Society Hospital in Gaza City have been forced to flee following mass evacuation orders issued by Israeli forces.

Nebal Farsakh, spokesperson for the Palestine Red Crescent Society, reported that the latest evacuation orders have rendered all medical facilities affiliated with the Red Crescent out of service in Gaza City.

The Israeli evacuation orders and subsequent attacks have displaced thousands of Palestinians, prompting Hamas warnings of “catastrophic consequences.” The UN estimates that at least nine out of 10 people in the Gaza Strip have been displaced at least once since the onset of the war on October 7.

Meanwhile,  Israeli forces continue their extensive attacks in Gaza City, targeting both above and below ground. A spokesperson for the Israeli forces stated that dozens of fighters have been eliminated and significant quantities of ammunition and weapons have been located.

They added that “operations” in the Shujayea neighborhood and Rafah have seen intense face-to-face encounters and air strikes, resulting in the deaths of numerous fighters and the destruction of armed groups’ infrastructure. They claimed to have killed 150 Palestinian fighters since launching their attacks in Gaza City.

Israeli’s enforced displacement has exacerbated an already dire humanitarian crisis for Palestinians, with people fleeing from one attacked neighborhood to another. In addition, the designated “safe” areas are increasingly becoming death traps for displaced families, said Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud, reporting for Deir el-Balah.

Overnight, six people lost their lives in an attack on the Nuseirat refugee camp. Four were killed instantly, while two others died from their injuries after being rescued from the rubble following five hours of intense rescue operations.

In Deir el-Balah, three more people, including a man and his two children, were killed in a residential building. In Gaza City, ongoing air attacks claimed five additional lives as Israeli forces extended their control over the eastern and central parts of the city.
