Rabat –  The International Storytelling Festival organized on Friday a visit to the historical grounds of the Mohammed V Mausoleum in Rabat as part of its efforts to promote Morocco’s cultural heritage.

The Mausoleum of Mohammed V contains the tombs of the Moroccan king Mohammed V and his two sons, the late King Hassan II and Prince Moulay Abdallah.

This tour is part of the annual Morocco International Storytelling Festival, which celebrates the art of narrative and contributes to preserving oral traditions from the past while connecting them with the present.

Scheduled between July 1 and July 8, the event aims to promote Morocco’s oral tradition as a pillar of the country’s intangible heritage.

In an interview with Morocco World News, Khaoula Baklouti, a storyteller from Tunisia, expressed her intention to explore and deepen her understanding of Morocco’s heritage.

“I am here today to take a little tour in the mausoleum, to learn more about Morocco and its rich legacy. It’s inspiring for me as a storyteller, blending innovation with international heritage,” Baklouti stated.

The tour was inscribed in the revered golden book of the mausoleum, a symbolic gesture.
