Doha – On the orders of King Mohammed VI, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan received on Friday at the Royal Palace in Tetouan a group of children from Al-Quds (Jerusalem) participating in the 15th edition of the summer camps organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency (BMAQ).
The initiative, held under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, reflects the King’s ongoing support for the Holy City and its inhabitants, according to Morocco’s official news agency.
They add that it reinforces the work of the BMAQ, which is dedicated to supporting the city of Al-Quds and its residents through various projects that significantly impact the lives of Maqdessis, particularly women, children, and those in difficult situations.
Named “Yaqub al-Mansur al-Mowahidi,” this edition, running from August 9 to 26, hosts 50 children from Al-Quds (boys and girls), aged 11 to 14, accompanied by five supervisors also from the Holy City.
The activities include educational trips, contests, entertainment, leisure activities, and cultural visits with Moroccan children.
During the reception, the Al-Quds children presented Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan with a souvenir gift. The Prince then posed for a commemorative photo with the children and their supervisors.
Following the reception, the children were invited to a luncheon offered in their honor by King Mohammed VI and presided over by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan.
Since its launch in 2008, the summer camp program of the BMAQ has hosted a total of 750 children from various neighborhoods of the Holy City, accompanied by 75 supervisors.
The program has allowed them to visit different regions of Morocco and witness firsthand the solidarity of Moroccans with Palestinians.
Concurrently with the summer camp in Morocco, the Agency launched the “Summer Schools” program in Al-Quds earlier in August, benefiting 4,000 children from the Holy City across 17 schools and clubs in various neighborhoods and villages of the governorate.
