Doha – British newspaper The Telegraph has named Agadir as one of the top 15 sun destinations for wintertime that offer great value for money in its latest travel report.

Agadir stands out as Africa’s most accessible and affordable option for travelers seeking to escape the cold season.

According to The Telegraph, Agadir boasts a sprawling sandy beach, 300 days of sunshine per year, and a short four-hour flight time from the UK. What sets it apart even more is its low local prices compared to other popular winter getaways.

The article highlights that while the weather in Agadir during winter is “warm, not sweltering,” travelers can enjoy beach days mixed with exciting excursions.

Recommendations include “four-wheel-drive trips into Souss-Massa National Park and visits to Berber (Amazigh) villages such as Tafraoute, where almond trees bloom spectacularly in February.”

For surfers, Agadir is a top pick, as The Telegraph notes that winter is “the best season for riding world-class waves at nearby Taghazout.”

The report also suggests that independent travelers can find bargain flights and great-value accommodations, such as the beachside resort Paradis Plage near Taghazout or the mountain riad-style Atlas Kasbah just outside the city.

In the outlet’s analysis of on-the-ground costs using data from the Post Office Travel Money report, Agadir and Morocco ranked highly for affordability compared to other winter sun destinations across the globe.

The article emphasizes that “value doesn’t mean bargain basement; it is about what you are experiencing for your money,” and that Agadir can deliver “a five-star break at three-star prices.”

While The Telegraph’s best-value list features appealing options spanning Cape Verde, Vietnam, Portugal, Mexico and more, Agadir emerges as a leading choice for travelers from the UK and Europe seeking a sunny, accessible, and cost-effective winter break on the African continent.

With its combination of beaches, culture, activities and advantageous prices, Morocco’s popular coastal resort city is set to welcome a wave of sunseekers this winter season.
