Taekwondo sensation El Bouchti originally secured her place in the Paris 2024 Olympics, as a result of the latest global rankings and due to the withdrawal of her category from the Oceania Olympic qualifiers.
The World Taekwondo Federation’s decision to affirm her qualification was upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), despite a challenge from Korean athlete Mi Reu Kang, who contested El Bouchti’s eligibility despite her impressive world ranking of ninth.
