Rabat- As Morocco’s Atlas Lions ended their Olympic journey on a high note today, striker Soufiane Rahimi emerged as the embodiment of his team’s odds-defying and historic performances. 

With six exceptional, gosh-scoring displays in six games, the Moroccan striker ended fittingly making history at the 2024 Olympic Games for both himself and the Moroccan Olympic team. Rahimi has set a new record for the most goals scored in a single Olympic tournament by reaching 8 goals. 

He reached this improbable milestone of 8 Olympic goals with another divine performance today, striking twice as Morocco sept through Egypt in a commanding 6-0 win. 

He is also now both  the leading scorer of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the first player ever to score in every match of the tournament.

In today’s match against Egypt, Rahimi his two goals in the 26th and 65th minutes. 

Earlier in the tournament, he had already made his mark by scoring a brace against Argentina, adding a goal against Ukraine, another against Iraq, a fifth goal against America, and his sixth against Spain.

Soufiane Rahimi now shares the title of top Arab scorer in Olympic history with Ibrahim Moustafa Reyadh, the star of the Egyptian national team and Tarsana club, both having scored 8 goals.
