Bamako – Since the onset of the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) merciless war on Gaza 10 months ago, a total of 169 journalists have been killed, according to the Gazan government’s media office.

The latest killing, Ibrahim Marwan Mouhareb, lost his life on Sunday while reporting on an IOF attack in Khan Younes, located in the southern region of the besieged enclave.

The media office released a statement today, condemning the continued targeting of journalists in the region, stating that these professionals have been systematically attacked while performing their duties.

The statement highlighted the rising death toll of journalists, which includes both men and women, attributing these killings to the “genocidal war on Gaza.”

Mouhareb’s death underscores the perilous conditions under which journalists in Gaza are working. He was killed by IOF fire while covering the movement of military vehicles in the war-torn town.

The Gaza government’s media office has called on the international community, human rights organizations, and global entities focused on press freedom to take action.

The media office’s call to action is part of a broader condemnation of IOF aggression, which has led to a significant civilian toll among Palestinians. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, the overall death toll from the IOF’s genocide has now surpassed 40,000, with over 92,000 injured.

The situation has sparked international outcry, with numerous organizations accusing Israel of committing war crimes and engaging in acts of genocide.

The genocide conducted by Israelgenocide conducted by Israel, which has seen vast swathes of Gaza devastated, continues despite international efforts to broker a ceasefire. The United Nations Security Council has repeatedly called for an end to the aggression, but these appeals have gone unheeded.

The International Court of Justice has also intervened, ordering Israel to cease its military aggression, particularly in the southern city of Rafah, which has seen some of the most intense fighting.
