Rabat – In a successful friendly match held in Alajuela, Costa Rica, Morocco’s U20 women’s national team secured a 2-0 victory over Fiji yesterday.
Under the guidance of coach Jorge Vilda Rodriguez, the Moroccan squad broke the deadlock in the 65th minute with a goal from Hajar Said.
Doha El Madani added a second goal just 10 minutes before the final whistle.
This victory marks a positive end to the Moroccan team’s preparatory camp for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Colombia in 2024.
The team will head to Cali, Colombia, today to prepare for the group stage of the tournament.
Their first match will be against Paraguay, set for September 1 at midnight Moroccan time.

Earlier this month, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) revealed the final roster for Morocco’s U-20 women’s national team, which will compete in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The 24-player squad, including three reserves, will be coached by Jorge Vilda, the Spanish head coach of the senior national women’s team.
This tournament, taking place from August 31 to September 22 in Colombia, marks the Moroccan U-20 team’s debut in the World Cup. Matches will be held across Bogotá, Cali, and Medellín.
Morocco has been drawn into Group C, where they will face tough opponents: reigning champions Spain and the USA, who share a record of three titles with Germany and Paraguay.
