Real Madrid have signed Netherlands full-back Denzel Dumfries on a four-year deal, until June 30, 2030.
While the transfer fee has not been confirmed, Real Madrid will activate Dumfries’ €20 million release clause.
“Real Madrid and Inter Milan have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Denzel Dumfries, who will be linked to our club for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2030,” Madrid said in a statement.
The 30-year-old is Real Madrid’s fourth signing this year after Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, and Ibrahima Konaté. This could help the team return to its usual level ahead of next season after two underwhelming seasons.
Dumfries came to the Nerazzurri from PSV Eindhoven in 2021.
He played 207 matches for Inter, scoring 27 goals, providing 28 assists, and winning eight trophies.
He helped Inter win the Serie A title twice and the Coppa Italia three times, and also contributed significantly to the Netherlands reaching the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Following the transfer, Inter Milan paid a glowing tribute to its former defender: “Thank you for everything, Denzel. It was great to win together. Inter will always be your home.”
The club added that they fell in love through “those runs of pure joy that made us feel like children again. Good luck for the future.”
