Rabat – In a major setback for Real Madrid’s season, the club has announced that Morocco’s Brahim Díaz has sustained a severe muscle injury.
The club’s official statement revealed that Brahim Díaz has been diagnosed with a long abductor muscle injury in his right leg, sustained during the first half of Real Madrid’s recent match against Real Sociedad.
Real Madrid beat Real Sociedad 2-0 on two penalty goals yesterday in the Spanish La Liga.
The injury is anticipated to sideline the midfielder for nearly three months, according to Marca.
The injury occurred in the 20th minute of the match when Díaz experienced a sharp pain in the back of his right thigh.
Despite trying to continue with some high-intensity sprints, his condition worsened, leading to his substitution in the 23rd minute.
Díaz himself took to social media shortly after, expressing gratitude for the support he has received from teammates, family, and fans. “I will be back soon,” Díaz assured his followers in X.
An MRI scan at Ciudad Real Madrid confirmed that Díaz’s injury is more severe than initially feared, revealing a serious tear.
This new injury exacerbates Real Madrid’s already extensive list of absentees, including key players such as David Alaba, Eduardo Camavinga, and Dani Ceballos.
The squad’s current depletion presents a major challenge for head coach Carlo Ancelotti, particularly with the team preparing for their first Champions League match against German team Stuttgart.
As Real Madrid grapples with this challenging period, both the club and its supporters will be hoping for a speedy recovery for Díaz and favorable results in the forthcoming matches.
