Rabat – The leading food and beverage company Centrale Danone and Tibu Africa, a non-profit organization, announced today a strategic partnership to support children and young adults in the province of Fquih Ben Salah.
Through two innovative programs, “Génération Sportive” and “Insertion Professionnelle des Jeunes Adultes par le Sport,” the collaboration seeks to foster health, education, and employment opportunities in the region.
“Génération Sportive” focuses on revitalizing public elementary schools into vibrant hubs for health and physical activity. The program will deploy health sport animators across ten schools, benefiting approximately 5,000 children.
“By providing a sports-based education, we are promoting physical, mental, and social development among children,” Hervé Orama Barrère, CEO of Centrale Danone, said in a press release.
This initiative also includes nutrition training, reinforcing Centrale Danone’s mission to “bring health through food to as many people as possible.”
The second program, “Insertion Professionnelle des Jeunes Adultes par le Sport,” targets young adults aged 15 to 24 who are not engaged in employment, education, or training.
According to the latest High Commission for Planning report, this demographic numbers around 1.5 million in Morocco.
The initiative will offer work-study training and practical experience in the sports sector, ultimately creating 25 jobs for participants over a nine-month period.
“Our goal is to equip young adults with the skills needed for better socio-economic integration,” Barrère emphasized.
The partnership highlights Centrale Danone’s commitment to its communities, bolstered by its status as a certified B Corp™ company.
“By obtaining B Corp™ certification, we have demonstrated our dedication to the local communities of our production sites,” Barrère noted, highlighting the importance of this collaboration.
Mohamed Amine Zariat, Ashoka Fellow and Founding President of Tibu Africa, added: “Sport is a driving force for social inclusion and personal development. With the support of Centrale Danone, we are convinced that these initiatives will have a lasting impact on the lives of children and young adults in Fquih Ben Salah, while strengthening their employability.”
