Rabat — Morocco’s General Directorate announced today that heavy rainfall will hit several provinces, including Marrakech.
The weather office said thunderstorms producing between 20 and 40 millimeters will affect the provinces of Tangier, Assilah, Azilal, Marrakech, El Haouz and Kelaa Sraghna.
The same weather, which will hit the regions on Tuesday and Wednesday, will affect Rehamna, Safi, Youssouffia, Chichaoua, Essaouira, Taroudant, and Agadir-Ida-Ou Tanane.
Several Moroccan provinces witnessed heavy rainfall recently, including Marrakech and Tata.
Over the weekend, Marrakech experienced stormy rainfall that caused significant flooding in the city.
Following the stormy rainfall, videos on social media show cars partially submerged.
The situation sparked a wave of concerns and outrage among many citizens about the unpreparedness of the city and the resulting devastation.
Many took to social media, using hashtags like #InfrastructureMarrakech to express their frustrations, sharing videos of the soaked streets and submerged vehicles.
