Rabat – Royal Air Maroc announced that some of its flights to and from Brussels were canceled due to strikes in Belgium.
The airline said that the strike affected flights AT678/AT679 and AT832/AT833.
“We offer several solutions to our dear passengers affected by these cancellations,” Royal Air Maroc wrote on X on Monday, asking its customers to check its website for more information.
Reports said today that flights to and from airports in Brussels are on hold due to strikes launched by cleaning and hospitality staff seeking better wages and working conditions.
Brussels airport also made an announcement about the strike, noting that all departing passengers flights have been cancelled today.
“1 Oct – NationalManifestation in Brussels. To ensure the safety of our passengers & staff, airlines, in consultation with #brusselsairport, have cancelled all departing passengers’ flights on Tuesday 1st of October,” the airport wrote on their socials account.
Several news outlets reported about the ongoing strike earlier this month, noting that major air route disruptions will take place on October 1.
Brussels Times reported that the strike involves over 1,0000 essential workers, who will gather at noon today to denounce their working conditions.
“A large number of employees of the external security service provider at Belgium’s largest airports are taking part, which will have a major impact on passenger flights,” the news outlet said.
