Rabat – Barid Al-Maghrib, Morocco’s postal service group, has released a special postage stamp titled “With Gaza” to show solidarity with the Palestinian people in the wake of persisting Israeli aggression.

The stamp was officially launched on Friday to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. In a statement, Barid Al-Maghrib said that the initiative reflects Morocco’s strong support for the Palestinian cause.

This stamp is part of a joint effort by Arab postal operators. The initiative was decided during the 27th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Communications and Information, held on January 18 this year in Abu Dhabi.

According to the statement, the 2024 common Arab stamp was dedicated to spreading a message of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The design of the “With Gaza” stamp was selected through an art competition involving contributions from several Arab countries. The winning artwork features the gaze of a child wearing Keffiyeh, symbolizing hope and a path to peace.

The devastating Israeli war on Gaza continues to claim innocent civilians for over a year now. Relentless attacks persist across the enclave, including in residential areas, camps housing displaced people, and so-called safe zones.

The death toll has reached over 44,400 victims, with tens of thousands injured, amid stalled ceasefire talks.

Israeli forces began withdrawing from Lebanon after US President Joe Biden announced a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

While Lebanese people are returning to their homes and celebrating an end to Israel’s aggression, Palestinians continue to feel as if their plight is ignored  as the genocide rages on in Gaza.
