Rabat – Adam Aznou, a rising talent from Morocco, marked a significant milestone in his career by making his Bundesliga debut with Bayern Munich.
The 18-year-old Atlas Lion entered the match in the 80th minute, substituting for Canadian standout Alphonso Davies, and contributed to Bayern’s commanding 3-0 win over Union Berlin on Saturday.
The young defender’s debut stirred excitement among fans and drew commendation from Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany.
With Bayern in control of the game, Kompany seized the chance to introduce Aznou to Bundesliga play. In the post-match press conference, he expressed pride in the Moroccan player’s dedication and recent form.
“Adam has worked well in training and with the national team. He should be proud, and his parents should feel proud and happy. Now, he needs to keep working. There’s still a lot to accomplish,” Kompany stated.
Although his time on the field was brief, Aznou showcased his skill and potential, providing a promising indication for both Bayern Munich and Morocco’s national team, where he is regarded as a valuable future asset.
Following his debut, Aznou took to social media to share his excitement and gratitude. “What better way to start than at the Allianz Arena with my fans? I’m very happy to get my first minutes in the Bundesliga. Thanks to the coach for trusting me, and thanks to everyone for the messages I’ve been receiving,” he wrote.
Aznou’s ascent to Bayern has been swift. After catching the attention of scouts with his performances in youth leagues, the young Moroccan joined Bayern’s development program, where he rapidly moved up the ranks.
His debut in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues represents a crucial turning point in his career and paves the way for future appearances in both national and international competitions.
