Rabat — A new program called “She Impulse” is set to change the landscape of women-led businesses in Morocco and aims to support women in starting and growing their firms by giving them the tools to compete and succeed.
The initiative was launched by the Moroccan Women Entrepreneurs Association (AFEM) and is part of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Development Plan, which focuses on jobs, innovation, and business growth.
“This partnership shows how much we value women in business. With the right support, they can drive real change in the economy,” AFEM president Leila Doukali said in an interview to Morocco World News (MWN).
Doukali also spoke about the long-term vision for the program. “Our goal is to build an ecosystem that stimulates innovation and gives women the skills to thrive in key sectors.”
Abdellatif Maazouz, head of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council told the press that he sees this agreement as “a key step in our plan to make women part of the region’s economic success.”
He added, “The focus is on training, mentoring, and access to funding to help women turn their ideas into thriving businesses.”
She Impulse works in three main areas.
She Learn is a digital learning platform that offers lessons in marketing, tech, and management. It’s backed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
To kick off their startup, the She Start platform assists businesswomen have access to mentors, investors, and high-tech tools. “This push will give women the chance to turn ideas into reality,” said Doukali.
On the other hand, She Industrial stands as a project designed to bring women into the manufacturing sector. It offers funding, training, and connections.
In addition to the EBRD, the program has strong backing from the Ministry of Industry, local banks, and global organizations. Doukali is grateful for this support, saying “With so many key players working together, we can make a real impact. This isn’t just a local effort. It’s part of a larger push for women’s economic empowerment.”
She Impulse also focuses on making women business leaders in green industries and digital innovation. Maazouz added he is certain that “by helping women adapt to new markets and technologies, we’re preparing them for a globalized world.”
Doukali summed it up: “This is about more than just business. It’s about giving women the power to lead, innovate, and create lasting value for the whole economy.”
AFEM hopes the program will benefit thousands of women. With training, funding, and strong networks, more women entrepreneurs could enter the helm of entrepreneurship.
“Through She Impulse, we’re not just offering help,” said Doukali. “We want women to be at the forefront of Morocco’s growth story.”
