Rabat – Moroccan forward Ayoub El Kaabi has been recognized as the Best Foreign Player in the Greek Super League, an accolade he received during the 43rd PSAPP Awards ceremony on Monday.
The Olympiacos striker’s stellar performances throughout the season have cemented his reputation as one of the league’s standout players.
El Kaabi, who tallied an impressive 17 goals and two assists in 31 matches across domestic and European competitions, is now the second Moroccan to claim this prestigious award. He follows Youssef El Arabi, who earned the honor twice in 2020 and 2021.
The Moroccan player joins an impressive list of past winners who have greatly contributed to Greek football, including Rivaldo, Djibril Cissé, and Darko Kovacevic.
His clinical finishing and ability to rise to the occasion have made him an invaluable asset to Olympiacos since his arrival. From decisive goals in league fixtures to impactful displays in the Europa League and Conference League, El Kaabi has consistently proven his worth.
Among his season highlights was a memorable hat-trick against AEK Athens, a performance that further solidified his standing as a key player for his team.
He added to his tally last Saturday with a well-timed goal in Olympiacos’ win over Volos, showcasing his ability to deliver under pressure.
El Kaabi’s tireless determination and ability to deliver in key moments have established him as one of the top African forwards in European football.
A key player for Morocco since 2018, he has represented his country on the biggest stages, including the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the Africa Cup of Nations, and two African Nations Championship tournaments.
Notably, he set a record as the top scorer in the 2018 African Nations Championship, netting nine goals. His latest recognition reflects his enduring form and ambition, as he continues to excel both for Olympiacos and the Moroccan national team.
