Morocco participated today in the 48th Conference of Arab Police and Security Chiefs in Tunis.
During the event, Morocco received applause for its ongoing contributions to regional and international security.
Mohammed Dkhissi, director of judicial police and head of the National Central Bureau of Interpol, represented Morocco at the conference.
Dkhissi also holds the position of Vice President of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) for Africa and the Head of the Liaison Office at the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council.
During the event, Dkhissi stressed the importance of the conference, describing it as an opportunity to create new mechanisms for improving security coordination and enhancing joint strategies to face the increasing risks, especially cross-border crime.
He stressed the need to explore ways to advance efforts that keep up with technological developments and facilitate the exchange of expertise.
The conference marks another campaign seeking to combat security challenges, including cybercrime, as well as trafficking in arms and humans.
He spoke of Iblah, a digital platform Morocco’s Secretary Directorate launched in June to ensure secure and immediate reporting for law enforcement in the digital space.
Interpol’s President, Ahmed Naser al Raisi, commended Morocco’s efforts in strengthening security cooperation, particularly through its leadership of the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Rabat.
He also applauded the country’s election to the position of the Vice President of Interpol Africa, extending congratulations to Dkhissi for his election.
Mohammed bin Ali Kuman, Secretary General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, acknowledged the security challenges facing the Arab world.
He emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation to address the issues effectively.
The most pressing challenges include drug trafficking and the rising threat of cybercrime, he said.
