Doha – Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has recently treated his followers to moments of his discreet tour through the streets of Casablanca on his social media accounts.
The Moroccan international posted photos and videos of his visit while taking advantage of PSG’s current break from Champions League and domestic fixtures.
In his social media posts, Hakimi documented his journey through various parts of the white city. He shared photos from the old medina, where he posed alongside his brother, and was photographed in front of Casablanca’s iconic red “petit taxis.”
The footballer also posted content showing him touring several avenues of Casablanca in one of these traditional taxis, accompanied by both his brother and sister.
During his visit, Hakimi was seen enjoying simple pleasures, maintaining a low profile as he visited various locations including local shops, a dairy store, and traditional Moroccan grocery stores known as “hanout.” He also took time to sign jerseys for fans during his tour.
The PSG star shared these moments with the caption “Weld lbled” (Son of the country), accompanied by El Grandetoto’s hit song “DIPLOMATICO.”
On Tuesday, coinciding with his visit, the Achraf Hakimi Foundation and NGO Tibu Africa, partnered with the Al Ihssane Association to launch an innovative program at the Bouafi Center in Casablanca.
The initiative, unveiled on International Day of Persons with Disabilities, aims to promote sports inclusion for young people in the disabled community.
As per a joint statement from the organizer, the program focuses on the three fundamental aspects of motor, cognitive, and socio-emotional development. It offers participants the opportunity to improve their physical coordination through adapted sports activities, enhance learning abilities through educational workshops, and build self-confidence in a supportive social environment.
Though Madrid-born, Hakimi maintains strong ties to Morocco and is currently one of five finalists for the African Player of the Year award. His visit comes during a successful period in his career, having recently been named PSG’s Player of the Month for November by Le Parisien newspaper.
The French daily recognized his notable performances during a challenging month for the club, highlighting his goal against Nantes and assist to João Neves against Toulouse.
With two goals and four assists this season, he ranks as PSG’s fifth-most decisive player, behind Barcola, Dembélé, Neves, and Lee. The Atlas Lion has also recently extended his contract with PSG until June 2029.
