Rabat – International football player Achraf Hakimi has reportedly extended his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The contract has been extended until 2029, according to multiple reporters, including sports journalist Fabrizio Romano.
“Achraf Hakimi has siged new long term deal at Paris Saint-Germain until june 2029,” Romano wrote on X.
French news outlet L’Equipe also reported the news, saying that the Moroccan right-back extended his contract a few days ago.
The sports focused website highlighted the important role Hakimi plays for the PSG team. This season, Hakimi played in 13 matches, including nine in Ligue 1 and four in the Champions League. The Atlas Lion joined the club in 2021.
PSG Coach Luis Enrique has long commended Hakimi’s key contributions to the French team. In October, Enrique described Hakimi as an elite player.
“He’s becoming more well-rounded, especially on the defensive side. Hakimi is an elite player with vast experience and serves as a reference for his teammates,” Luis Enrique said to the press.
“I think he’s more mature compared to last season, and that reflects his development,” he added.
For the Atlas Lions,Hakimi has been a key figure in Morocco’s national football squad, contributing to many achievements. He was featured prominently in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, as well as in multiple Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
