Rabat — On Thursday, Egyptian club Al Ahly said it signed a contract with Moroccan forward Achraf Bencharki.
The international football player joined the Egyptian giants on a free transfer after Al Rayyan terminated his contract by mutual consent.
Converging reports said that the international player paid his release clause, which enabled him to sign a two-year and a half contract with Al Ahly. Egyptian news outlet Ahram said Bencharki will receive $1.3 million per season.
“The player has signed the contracts, and the club has completed all administrative and financial procedures,” the club wrote on Thursday.
Bencharki has played for Al Rayyan since July 2023. The football player is familiar with the Egyptian league as he already played for Al Ahly‘s rivals Zamalek. During his time with Zamalek, Bencharki scored 41 goals, and contributed 28 assists in over one hundred appearances.
Bencharki also played for Morocco’s clubs, including MAS Fes, with whom he appeared in 48 matches, scored 13 goals, and made five assists.
With Wydad, he played 43 games, scoring nine goals and contributing to nine others.
Internationally, he appeared 33 times with Al Jazira and scored nine goals, while with Lens he scored four goals in 26 appearances. With Al Hilal, Bencharki made 13 appearances and scored three times.
