Rabat – General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) held talks today in Rabat with General Zéphirin Mamadou, Chief of Staff of the Central African Armed Forces.
Berrid also serves as the Commander of the Southern Zone, and Mamadou as the Commander of the Autonomous Defense Zone of Bangui.
The meeting took place at the FAR’s General Staff headquarters, as part of General Mamadou’s official visit to Morocco, which runs from January 17 to 23, with him leading a prominent military delegation.
The two leaders engaged in comprehensive discussions on several key areas of bilateral military cooperation, particularly training initiatives and the exchange of visits.

General Mamadou also seized the opportunity to express his sincere gratitude to King Mohammed VI for the continuous support provided to the Central African Armed Forces.
He lauded the contributions of the Moroccan contingent, as well as its critical role in the stabilization efforts as part of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
Later in the day, General Mamadou had a meeting with Abdeltif Loudyi, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defense Administration.
In their discussion, both officials acknowledged the growing ties between Morocco and the Central African Republic and explored opportunities to broaden cooperation in other areas of shared interest.
Since 2014, Morocco has been actively involved in peacekeeping efforts in the Central African Republic, deploying a contingent of 750 soldiers within the framework of the MINUSCA mission.
This is part of the North African country’s larger efforts to boost its military efficiency through international partnerships.
As seen with the Central African Republic, by engaging in joint training, exchange visits, and peacekeeping, Morocco strengthens its defense capabilities while building strategic alliances.
