Rabat – The Moroccan Ambassador to China, Abdelkader El Ansari, spoke about the growing partnership between Morocco and China, saying that 2025 will mark a significant step forward in their cooperation.

He noted that the two countries are launching two direct flights connecting Casablanca with Beijing and Shanghai this, a move he says reflects their shared commitment to enhancing bilateral ties.

In an interview with the Chinese channel CGTN, El Ansari described the Morocco-China relationship as one built on mutual respect, solidarity, trust, and credibility. He added that the two countries share similar views on important global issues and are working together to achieve a more fair and peaceful world.

The Ambassador explained that Morocco and China’s partnership reflects a shared vision for South-South cooperation, which aims to create a fair and multilateral global system.

El Ansari also praised the China-Africa Cooperation Forum as an important platform to evaluate relations between China and African countries and to plan for the future.

Thanks to its strategic location and historical ties, Morocco positions itself as a gateway to West and Central Africa, said the Ambassador. He said that Morocco and China will continue to work together to support Africa’s development in 2025 and beyond.

El Ansari pointed out that China is Morocco’s third-largest trading partner globally and its largest in Asia. Since King Mohammed VI’s visit to China in 2016, Chinese companies have shown growing interest in the Moroccan market.

Currently, dozens of Chinese companies operate in Morocco, particularly in industries such as automotive manufacturing, renewable energy, textiles, and agriculture. Many more have expressed interest in entering the Moroccan market. Chinese companies are also participating in major infrastructure and industrial projects in Morocco, showcasing the strong momentum of their cooperation.

The Ambassador expressed confidence that 2025 will bring new opportunities to deepen the partnership between the two countries. He concluded by emphasizing the shared determination of King Mohammed VI and President Xi Jinping to elevate Morocco-China relations to new heights.
