Rabat – Morocco’s Azilal province is about to enter the Jurassic era, with a new dinosaur-themed amusement park.
“Dino Parc” is the newest tourism project commissioned by the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT), who issued a Call for Expression of Interest (CEI) to select an investor for its development.
The initiative is launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, the Wilaya and Regional Council of Beni Mellal-Khenifra, and the province of Azilal.
The winner of the bid will take over “Dino Park’s” investment, bringing this prehistoric vision to life for Moroccan families in Azilal.
Set to span five hectares, SMIT says that this park will allow visitors to truly discover the world of dinosaurs, and is poised to be an international tourist attraction.
This flagship tourism project aims to diversify and enhance the region’s offerings in this vital sector, as well as enhance the region’s draw for visitors.
It is set to align well with 2023-2026 roadmap’s nature-focused initiatives in the region, in the realms of natural sites, trekking, and hiking for both local and international tourists, SMIT detailed.
The SMIT’s call also detailed that the project will capitalize on the UNESCO-approved “Mgoun Geopark” label to bolster the tourism sector in the region.

The project requires an investment of MAD 100 million ($9.93 million) and will receive substantial technical and financial support from SMIT and the Beni Mellal-Khénifra Region.
SMIT urges investors interested in bidding for this project to request more details and information by contacting [email protected].
This development aligns with Morocco’s broader strategy to promote niche tourism investments.
In November 2024, the ministry of tourism launched a digital platform, “Tourism Project Bank,” in partnership with the SMIT to drive investment in Morocco’s tourism sector.
Similar themed parks, such as “Palooza Park” in Marrakech, have successfully attracted both domestic and international tourists, implying an optimistic future for “Dino Park” in Azilal.
