Rabat – Morocco’s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced today that online registration for the 2026 Hajj season (1447 AH) will begin on Monday, January 13 and will close on Friday, January 24.
The ministry said in a statement that the Royal Hajj Committee has decided to allow citizens aged 18 and above, who have not performed Hajj in the last ten years, to register online for the pilgrimage.
The registration process will be carried out through the ministry’s website. Two options are available on the website; one list is for those who wish to perform Hajj under the supervision of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the other is for those who prefer to go with licensed travel agencies.
The ministry noted that elderly pilgrims must register with a family member under 50 years old who is physically able to assist them throughout the Hajj journey.
Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is a religious duty that every Muslim who is physically and financially capable must perform at least once in their lifetime. The pilgrimage takes place annually in the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah in the holy city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Hajj is a deeply spiritual journey for Muslims. It symbolizes unity, equality, and devotion to God.
During Hajj, Pilgrims wear simple white garments, known as Ihram, as a sign of humility and removing distinctions of wealth and status.
The rituals of Hajj include walking around the Kaaba and standing in prayer at Mount Arafat. Pilgrims perform these acts of worship and repentance in order to bring themselves closer to God.
