Rabat — Moroccan carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced today the launch of a new direct flight connecting Rabat to Dakhla.

The new air route is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its domestic network.

The flight will be operational starting January 15, with two frequencies per week on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The flight will take off from Rabat at 6:50 p.m. Moroccan time, with arrival to Dakhla scheduled at 9:30 p.m.

Return flights will take off from Dakhla airport at 10:10 p.m. and arrive at Rabat at 12:25 a.m.

The cost for a round-trip economy class is set to be MAD 2,000 (approximately $200).

Royal Air Maroc CEO, Hamid Addou, expressed satisfaction with the launch of the new flight, noting that this trip reinforces the connectivity with Dakhla and the rest of Morocco’s southern provinces.

He also said Royal Air Maroc is bolstering its role in economic and tourist development, to facilitate mobility across Morocco’s 12 regions.

RAM already operates two daily flights from Casablanca to Dakhla.

Announcing the news, the Moroccan airline said that “the partnership between RAM and the Dakhla Oued Eddahab region reinforces air connections between northern and southern cities,” noting that through the launch of this new air route, the company “pursues its domestic network development strategy.

This aligns with RAM’s objectives outlined in a July 2023 agreement with the Moroccan government, the statement said, noting that the approach seeks to connect Moroccan cities and open up remote regions, promoting domestic tourism.
