Rabat — Despite Real Madrid’s 1-2 loss to Real Betis on Saturday, Spanish media and news outlets are focusing on Moroccan sensation Brahim Diaz for his outstanding performances with the La Liga giants.
Real Madrid scored the opening goal in the match through Brahim Diaz.
“The opening goal came from Brahim Diaz, who finished off a well-worked attacking move that showcased the team’s early control of the game,” Madrid Universal wrote.
Football Espana joined the chorus of websites commending Diaz’s performance, recalling how the Atlas Lion led the club into an early lead against Real Betis.
“It was a fine team move from Carlo Ancelotti’s side with Kylian Mbappe, who returned to the side after missing the midweek victory against Real Sociedad, at the heart of it, and it culminated with Ferland Mendy slipping the ball into the path of Brahim Diaz, who could not miss from a few yards out,” Football Espana said.
Premier Sports also celebrated the Atlas Lion, noting that the “Moroccan applies the finish after great play by Kylian Mbappe and Ferland Mendy.”
This week marked Diaz’s 100th match for Real Madrid as he was featured in the Copa del Rey match against Real Sociedad.
Real Madrid celebrated him with a post in which the Atlas Lion appeared posing with a jersey with the number 100 was on the back.
Diaz also expressed satisfaction with his appearances with Real Madrid.
“It’s an honor to be at the best club in the world and play 100 matches with this shirt. It’s a pride for me and my loved ones. I get goosebumps because it’s something unique that will always be there. I’m really excited, I hope I play many more,” he remarked.
For Diaz, the club is everything.
“Real Madrid is greatness in every sense, and that shows every time you step onto the pitch and wear this shirt. I want to give my all for this club and its fans. It’s unique to be in Madrid,” he concluded.
