Morocco painfully beat Tanzania 2-0 in Oujda, taking another huge leap towards the first-ever 48-team World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The Lions of the Atlas sit now comfortably at the top of Group E with 15 points, leaving their closest rivals shuffling behind.
Regragui couldn’t hide his delight in the post-match press conference. “This win shows we’re getting stronger and more consistent,” he said after the match. “We’ve built a solid team that keeps improving.”

The game was all Morocco. They dominated possession, dictated the pace, and had Tanzania forced to sit deep and absorb pressure.
“We’ve built an attacking force where anyone can be a threat,” Regragui said. “The bench is a game-changer. Fresh legs, fresh energy, and instant impact.”
It wasn’t all smooth sailing. Tanzania parked the bus in the first half, frustrating Morocco. But Regragui said he made the right calls.
Tactical tweaks at halftime opened the doors for goal chances. “We spotted the issues, adjusted, and controlled the game,” he explained.
Morocco pressed hard. Regragui loved the intensity but wants even more. “We need to be clinical in the box,” he said. Low-block teams remain a thorn to break down, but Morocco are finding answers.
With this result, Morocco tighten their grip on Group E. Niger and Tanzania lag behind with six points.
