Rabat – The Royal Thai Embassy in Rabat is set to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Morocco with a cultural festival on May 24, 2025.

The festival will be held in Rabat at the embassy’s chancery in Souissi, offering a unique opportunity for residents to experience authentic Thai culture.

Organized in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the event will feature a range of activities, including traditional Thai dance performances, a Muay Thai show, and a mini fair with Thai food, beverages, and traditional massages available at affordable prices.

The Thai Tourism Office from Dubai will also be present, providing information on Thailand’s top travel destinations and offering advice for those considering a trip to the country.

This festival is part of the year-long celebration of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Thailand and Morocco, which were officially established in 1985.

Over the past four decades, the two nations have cultivated a relationship based on mutual respect, cultural exchange, and growing cooperation in sectors such as trade, tourism, education, and cultural collaboration.

Fabio Chinda, Thailand’s Ambassador to Morocco, highlighted the significance of this milestone during Thailand’s National Day celebrations in Rabat in December.

In his remarks, Ambassador Chinda praised Morocco’s rich cultural heritage and reaffirmed the deepening bilateral ties. He also pointed out that Moroccan citizens can visit Thailand visa-free for up to 60 days, which evidences the importance of fostering people-to-people connections between the two countries.

The event on May 24 is a free-entry affair, welcoming both Moroccan and international visitors in Rabat to celebrate Thai culture and explore the growing ties between Thailand and Morocco.

As the two countries continue to build on their strong foundation of diplomatic and cultural cooperation, this festival marks a significant moment in their shared history.
