Rabat – The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) is promoting Morocco’s tourism assets, particularly the Casablanca-Settat region, during the ongoing Arabian Travel Market in Dubai.
A statement from the tourism office said that the Moroccan delegation is working to strengthen Morocco as a premier travel destination during the event, which attracts over 2,800 exhibitors, 55,000 visitors and participants from over 160 countries.
During the event, which stands as one of the most influential and strategic trade shows in the tourism sector in the Middle East, ONMT is also showcasing Morocco’s tourism offers to energize the country’s position in the global tourism market
One of the key areas ONMT is exploring is increasing Morocco’s presence within the Saudi market.
ONMT said that Saudi Arabia has become the leading source of tourists from Gulf countries to Morocco, recording a 13% increase in arrivals compared to the previous year.
The office is celebrating the momentum, with a determination to form and reinforce strong partnerships with major Saudi operators like Almosafer, Fursan, and Flying.com.
The office also seeks to forge stronger ties with major global travel platforms like Wego and Cleartrip, expanding its influence in key markets like India and Southeast Asia.
As part of the partnerships explored during the event, ONMT signed a collaboration agreement with Emirates airline to strengthen air links between Morocco and fast-growing Asian markets, including Japan, South Korea, India, and Australia.
“This is made possible through Dubai, which serves as a central hub in global air transport networks, leveraging Emirates’ extensive network,” the statement said, noting that similar partnerships with key players enable ONMT to implement its strategy of diversifying source markets and reinforcing the country’s position as a leading global tourist destination.
The tourism office has been promoting Moroccan destinations in major international hubs and has launched a series of initiatives to draw in more visitors.
Morocco’s goal is to reach at least 26 million visitors by 2030. Last year, the country celebrated a record-breaking milestone, attracting over 17 million tourists. This far exceeded the target set for 2026.
