Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) finally broke the curse to finally win its first Champions League.
They won the game 5-0 against Inter Milan.
Morocco’s Atlas Lion Hakimi contributed to leading PSG to its first-ever Champions League.
PSG reached the Champions League twice. The first ended in heartbreak, and the second in coronation.
The first final was against Bayern Munich in 2020, when they suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 defeat.
Hakimi and his teammates will now celebrate a historic win with this victory, which will add to the Atlas Lion rich portfolio.
The Atlas Lion is already a star for Luis Enrique and other giant footballers, including Morocco’s former coach Hervé Renard, who recently described him as the best right back in the world.
That’s a description that his former teammate Kylian Mbappe agrees with.
Earlier this month, the Atlas Lion Achraf Hakimi was named the best African player in France’s Ligue 1 for the 2024–2025 season.
The award, known as the Marc-Vivien Foé Prize, is given by Radio France Internationale (RFI) and France 24.
RFI described Hakimi as an “exceptional athlete who combines speed, precision, and efficiency down the flank, he joyfully abandons to storm the penalty area, a territory he competes for with the forwards.”
Hakimi had an impressive season, helping his team win the French league title for the third year in a row.
The Atlas Lion featured in two World Cups – starting every match in Morocco’s historic run to the semi-finals at Qatar 2022 – and has appeared at three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, scoring from two direct free-kicks in the 2021 edition.
