Rabat – Morocco’s 2025 baccalaureate exam session wrapped up on May 31 after three days of success.
This year’s session saw hundreds of thousands of students across the country sit for their final high school exams in what the Ministry of National Education described as a “positive atmosphere.”
In a statement issued Monday, the ministry noted the collective effort behind the smooth rollout.
Teachers, administrators, education officials, and support staff came together to ensure the process stayed on track, inside and outside examination centers.
Logistics, supervision, and exam procedures all ran according to plan, the statement said, thanks to what it called a “serious and responsible” approach from all involved.
This year, more than 443,000 candidates took part in the exams. Among them, the participation rate reached 96.9% for students enrolled in school and 63.6% for independent candidates.
These numbers marked an increase compared to previous years and reflect what the ministry described as strong national engagement in this key stage of education.
As with previous editions, anti-cheating measures remained in place.
Authorities identified 2,769 cases of fraud, an increase of 12% compared to 2024. Each case has been documented, and regional committees will review them before deciding on disciplinary measures.
Correction work has already begun across 310 dedicated centers, where approximately 43,000 teachers have been mobilized.
Final deliberations are expected on June 13, with the official results set to follow on June 14.
The ministry extended its thanks to educators and school staff who supported students during this crucial period. It also acknowledged the role of security and judicial authorities, as well as local officials and media outlets, who provided what it called essential support throughout the exam session.
Parents and guardians also received praise for standing beside their children during what remains a defining chapter in their academic path. The ministry closed its statement by urging all actors in the education system to stay mobilized and maintain momentum ahead of the next key phases.
Last year’s baccalaureate exams ended on a high note, with nearly 80% of school-based candidates passing, an improvement from 74.3% in 2023. Out of the full cohort, 347,861 students succeeded across both exam sessions, while only about one in five did not make the cut.
With this upward trend, expectations remain high for an even stronger performance this year.
