Marrakech – This year’s students have produced remarkable results in the 2024 baccalaureate exams, with only a fifth of the cohort failing the exam.
A total of 347,861 school-based candidates successfully passed both sessions, resulting in an overall success rate of 79.4%, up from 74.3% in 2023. The results were presented by the Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, combining both the regular and remedial sessions.
The remedial session saw 126,870 candidates, both school-based and independent (home-schooled), sitting for the exams. Of these, 72,054 passed, achieving a success rate of 56.8%.
Among school-based candidates, 57,525 obtained their baccalaureate in this session, with a pass rate of 57.36%. Independent candidates fared slightly worse, with 14,529 succeeding, representing a 54.5% pass rate.
All candidates received their results via SMS and email through taalim.ma early Friday morning.
This year’s examination process introduced several new features, including an integrated system for secure transfer of exam questions to printing and distribution centers at regional academies.
A physical-digital traceability solution for candidates’ answer sheets was also implemented to secure the correction process before anonymity is lifted.
The ministry will continue to produce secure digital versions of baccalaureate diplomas and transcripts. Candidates can access their digital diplomas starting today, with paper versions available from the same date.
The ministry acknowledged the exemplary commitment of teachers in implementing measures to enhance the credibility of the Moroccan baccalaureate and ensure equal opportunities for all candidates.
It also recognized the efforts of families, local and security authorities, and all stakeholders in ensuring the smooth conduct of the exams.
